GraXpert is designed to remove gradients from astroimages. As the name suggests, gradients are gradual changes in brightness that are not part of the astrophoto but are caused by external interference. Causes can be e.g. light pollution or incorrect or missing flat correction, but also natural brightness gradients of the night sky and peculiarities of the optics used (shading in the form of a vignette). In order to edit deep-sky photos, it makes sense to remove such gradients from the images. Not only does it look better, but also simplifies further processing of the image. Color casts can also be removed in this way and it generally makes sense to free the astrophoto from the amount of the sky background. In short: A gradient removal is very useful, if not mandatory. Regim Regim ist mein Werkzeug, das die Verarbeitung von astronomischen Aufnahmen erleichtert. Im Mittelpunkt der Überlegungen standen dabei Aufnahmen, die mit digitalen Spiegelreflexkameras (DSLRs) und CCD-Kameras gewonnen wurden. Regim ist nicht als Ersatz für komplexe Bildverarbeitungssysteme wie etwa Adobe Photoshop gedacht. Vielmehr stellt es eine Ergänzung zu diesen dar. Es vereinfacht Arbeitsschritte, die bei astronomischen Aufnahmen angewendet werden. Dies sind insbesondere die Kalibrierung der Rohbilder (Dark- und Flatfield-Korrektur), Deblooming sowie das Ausrichten der Einzelbilder zueinander, aber auch das Kombinieren von einzelnen Farbkanälen zu einem RGB-Bild.

CCDciel is a free CCD capture software intended for the amateur astronomer. CCDciel has all functionality required for advanced imaging of celestial objects including sequences for fully automated unattended operation. For communication it uses the INDI and ASCOM standards. It can control the CCD/CMOS camera, focuser, filter wheel, rotator and telescope mount and uses image resolving software such astrometry.net for accurate positioning. It can serve both the beginner astro photographer as the advanced who can take a nap while the equipment is imaging. You can use CCDciel on Windows, Mac OS X or Linux, but beware the program is still in beta version. I use the Linux version every clear night so it is tested and must also work for you. The Windows and Mac version must work but are not or rarely tested by me. In any case I will appreciate your help for testing this software and reporting any bug or other problem.

Die Aufnahmesoftware FireCapture: Wer in der Planeten- oder Webcamfotografie unterwegs ist, benötigt natürlich eine Aufnahmesoftware. Man kann sicherlich die mitgelieferte Software der Kamera verwenden, aber diese ist niemals an die Bedürfnisse der Hobbyastronomen angepasst. Von daher empfiehlt es sich auf spezielle Aufnahmesoftware zu gehen. FireCapture ist eine solche spezielle Software, die auf die Bedürfnisse der Hobbyastronomen angepasst ist. Entwickelt wird die Software von Torsten Edelmann und das komplett frei und kostenlos. Seit 2008 werden hier ständig Verbesserungen und neue Funktionen eingebaut. Natürlich probiert Torsten mit der Software auch viel aus. So finden sich immer wieder Funktionen in der aktuellen Version, die dann in der nächsten Version nicht mehr existieren, da diese nicht so funktionieren wie sich Torsten das vorgestellt hat (Stefan Gotthold/clearskyblog.de). Im Downloadbereich werden die Kameras aufgelistet, welche von der jeweiligen Betriebssystemversion unterstützt werden!

WinJUPOSist das Produkt langjähriger Arbeit von Amateurastronomen zur Unterstützung der Beobachtung und Auswertung von Erscheinungen auf Planeten unseres Sonnensystems. Kern der Software ist eine Datenbank von Örtern atmosphärischer Erscheinungen bzw. Oberflächendetails auf den Planeten sowie der Sonne. Was kann WinJUPOS? Es unterstützt den Beobachter bei der Vorbereitung einer Beobachtung. Dazu dienen die Module Ephemeridenrechnung und Beobachtungsplanung. Bei visueller Beobachtung der Planeten Jupiter und Saturn kann man die ermittelten Zentralmeridianpassagen eines Objekts (Objektpositionen) im Modul Erfassung von Zentralmeridianpassagen in die Datenbank eintragen. Beobachtungen deren Ergebnis digitale Bilder sind (CCD-Beobachtungen oder digitalisierte Photographien) erfordern eine etwas umfangreichere Nachbearbeitung: Hat man z.B. monochromatische Aufnahmen in unterschiedlichen Wellenlängenbereichen des Lichts und möchte diese zu einem Farbbild kombinieren, empfiehlt sich das Modul Bildberechnung. Dieses setzt jedoch vorraus, daß die monochromatische Aufnahmen zuvor mit dem Modul Bildausmessung eingemessen wurden (d.h. die exakte Planetenumrandung festgelegt wurde und diese Einstellungen in einer Datei gespeichert wurden). Von digitalen Aufnahmen kann man mit dem Modul Bildausmessung direkt Objektpositionen bestimmen und in die Datenbank eintragen (sog. Ausmessungen). Von ein oder mehreren eingemessenen digitalen Aufnahmen kann man mit dem Modul Kartenberechnung Kartenprojektionen berechnen lassen... (usw.).

It can track a large number of satellites and display their position and other data in lists, tables, maps, and polar plots (radar view). Gpredict can also predict the time of future passes for a satellite, and provide you with detailed information about each pass. Gpredict is different from other satellite tracking programs in that it allows you to group the satellites into visualisation modules. Each of these modules can be configured independently from the others giving you unlimited flexibility concerning the look and feel of the modules. Naturally, Gpredict will also allow you to track satellites relatively to different observer locations - at the same time. Gpredict is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License.
